I have a diverse background in several different fields related to mental health. My first work in the mental health field was with teens in a wilderness therapy program in Arizona. This experience inspired me to start my life-long interest in helping individuals and families find a greater degree of peace and functioning. After my wilderness therapy experience I began working with teens and their families in residential therapy setting.
These experiences and hard work helped me to finish my graduate training at Utah State University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I then gained experience as a traditional outpatient therapist. Since finishing my Program and becoming licensed I have been working with individuals and families from many different backgrounds with many different issues. My approach to counseling is based on the person or family that I am seeing and the needs they have. I feel it is important to meet a person or family where they are, and then chart with them a route to recovery and better interactions with those in their life. I am happy to discuss your situation before meeting so that you can determine if coming to see me is a good fit.
